Students saw how popular dishes like General Tsao Chicken, fried rice, and dumplings are made, learned about the restaurant’s use of fresh ingredients and house-made sauces, and even tried their hand at making dumplings!
Of course, the best part was tasting all the delicious food. A huge thank-you to the Li family for opening their kitchen and sharing their passion for authentic Chinese cuisine!

What are you most looking forward to in your new role at UGHS?
I am looking forward to meeting new co-workers, as well as joining a community that does what it needs to do to support students with their education and life goals.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of education?
I enjoy being active outside (walking, bike riding, hiking), playing volleyball, reading, DIY/home updates, naps, baking, and spending time with friends & family.
What inspired you to become a teacher / go into education?
My youngest sibling is disabled, so growing up with him and seeing his education/progress is what inspired me to enter the world of education (special education in particular).
Is there a quote/mantra that guides your teaching?
"Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody." --Robby Novak (aka Kid President)

What are you most looking forward to in your new role at UGHS?
I love interacting with the students, staff and community. I look forward to helping all the UGHS stakeholders in a variety of ways to make each day at UGHS a little brighter and run a little smoother.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of education?
I also own Pine Acres General Store in Union Grove so that keeps me pretty busy but I also enjoy reading, puzzles, craft projects and most importantly spending time with my family.
What inspired you to go into education?
I have been in education for over 20 years, as a teacher, substitute teacher and now this. I had great teachers and mentors that encouraged me to share my love for education and help students make future decisions about careers and other life goals.

I am excited to be teaching Spanish at UGHS!
I am most looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and community more.
When I am not teaching, my absolute favorite thing is time with my family (my husband and I welcomed our son, Luka, in April to our little family with our dog, Rosie). Outside of family time, I enjoy birding, trying new food trucks, and video games.
Teaching is my second career. I worked in staffing previously but missed the learning of a classroom environment and talking about the Spanish language and culture. I went back to school to get my teaching license and have been happy with my decision since.

- New role: Long-Term Substitute in Science
- Looking forward to gaining more experience in the field of education, collaborating with and learning as much as I can from our great faculty and having engaging and fun learning experiences with my students!
- Avid sports fan (Bucks, Packers, Steelers, Cubs, Penguins), camping, gaming, spending time with my son and fiancé.
- I was raised in a single-mother household and understand the value that positive male role models have on young people. I take that responsibility very seriously and hope that I can leave a lasting, positive impact on my students like several of my former educators did for me.
- "Be the reason a student believes in themselves."

Mrs. Muth's Pre-Algebra 2 class has been hard at work! This past week, students created impressive scale drawings by applying their measurement and proportion skills. Each drawing was carefully crafted to stay true to scale — great job, students!

I will be filling the role of a special education paraprofessional.
I am most looking forward to experiencing education through a high school lens and being able to be a part of student’s learning journeys!
Outside of education I love to do fun things with my friends, travel, spend time with my nephews and niece, and get outside (kayaking, adventuring, camping, hunting, fishing) especially in the summer, but never in the winter.
I have always had a passion for working with children. My journey spans many different roles which ultimately led me to working in education for the past 8 years.
Be kind, you never know what someone is going through.

What is your new role, what will you be teaching/supporting?
Special Education Teacher-Resource; co-teaching U.S. History (1st Semester) and Algebra & Economics/Government (2nd Semester).
What are you most looking forward to in your new role at UGHS?
I’m looking forward to getting to know the students, their families, other members of this amazing community, and staff.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of education?
Outside of school, my kids (11 and 12) keep my husband and me busy with activities and their social lives. We make time for summers up north, escape rooms, and the theater, with musicals being our favorite. I also enjoy board games, reading, podcasts, documentaries, and occasionally saving the world in video games.
What inspired you to become a teacher / go into education?
Volunteering led me to substitute teaching, and my very first assignment was in Special Education. I quickly realized it was the right place for me, and I decided to make it my career. What I love most is the challenge, the individualization, and that no two days are ever the same. I get to teach different subjects, work with unique learners, and help prepare them not just for school, but for life and future careers. I love being able to advocate for students while also teaching them to advocate for themselves.
Is there a quote/mantra that guides your teaching?
Independence first, guidance next, support always.

Say hello to Ally Ciesielski, one of the newest faces in Bronco Country! Check out their spotlight below and learn more about them as they join our #BroncoFam.
What is your new role, what will you be teaching/supporting?
A: My new role is Executive Administrative Assistant working in the District Office for the Superintendent and School Board.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role at UGHS?
A: I’m really looking forward to supporting the leadership team and staff by helping things run smoothly behind the scenes. I enjoy creating organization out of the daily chaos and being a go-to resource when people need something. Most of all, I’m excited to get to know everyone, build connections, and contribute to making Union Grove High School a welcoming and positive place for staff, students, and families.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of education?
A: I’ve always loved anything related to the water! Whether it’s going to waterparks, spending time at the beach (especially the ocean—my favorite place to be), exploring new waterfalls, fishing, swimming, boating, or simply floating in a pool or lake, I’m happiest near the water.
I also love to travel with my husband and kids. We enjoy discovering new places, but we also love returning to the spots that have become special to us. We spend a lot of time in Tomahawk and Crandon, where we have family, and visit both several times each year.
My husband and I, who met in high school, have been married for 11 years. We have two wonderful kids—Lily (8) and Evan (6). Between work, school, and all the kids’ activities, life keeps us busy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
What inspired you to go into education?
A: What inspired me to go into education are the wonderful and caring teachers I had growing up. They made me feel important and encouraged my love of learning. I truly enjoyed being part of the school community—a place where I felt welcome, safe, valued, and appreciated. I was very involved in sports, clubs, choir, and theater, which gave me a strong sense of connection and belonging.
That positive experience stayed with me and drew me back to the education field. Even though I’m not directly in the classroom, I love being part of the school environment and supporting the work that helps both students and staff thrive.
Is there a quote/mantra that guides your life?
A: Make the most of every day, see challenges as growth and give yourself grace. This mantra is a good reminder to live each day with intention, view challenges as opportunities to learn & grow and treat yourself with patience and compassion along the way.
