Union Grove High School Art Department has a special announcement - Bryn Koszyczarek won a Silver Medal for her Watercolor Cats painting at the 2024 National Scholastic Art Awards!!! This is a huge honor and accomplishment for Bryn! We are very proud of her and all of her hard work!

🚨 8th Grade Experience Day Recap! 🚨 Today, we welcomed 8th graders from our feeder schools for a day packed with hands-on fun and exploration! 🎉 Our staff and administrators kicked things off, and then students split into groups to dive into activities across various departments. Here’s a glimpse of what they got to experience: 🔧 Speedy tire-changing competitions in Auto Tech 👩‍🍳 Scattegories in Family & Consumer Science 🎨 Crafting shrinky dinks in Art 🔥 Welding "UG" keychains in Tech Ed 🔨 Nailing it (literally!) with hammering practice 💻 Learning the basics of computer coding ☃️ Creating carnation snowmen in Agriculture Science 🐾 A scavenger hunt in the Animal Lab 🩺 Playing Operation in Biomedical Engineering We loved seeing their excitement and creativity throughout the day! 👏Earlier this month we welcomed Erica Miller to her new role as Executive Administrative Assistant. Here's what she had to say about starting her new role: As District Executive Administrative Assistant I am most looking forward to getting to know the UGHS staff through school/staff events and learning new job responsibilities. I have a 20-year old daughter who is a Union Grove High School graduate, currently attending Carroll University to become a Physical Therapist. I also have twin 13-year old daughters who attend Union Grove Elementary School. I enjoy watching my daughters participate in cheer and volleyball at Union Grove Elementary School. Also in my spare time I enjoy reading, completing home improvement projects, visiting Great America with my daughters, and spending time with our dogs Rocky and Jasper. A mantra that I try to remember and live by would be: “You are never too old to set a new goal or to dream a new dream." Welcome, Erica!

🎉 Congratulations to our Biomedical Science students! 🎉 This afternoon, students in the Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science program participated in a White Coat Ceremony after completing Medical Interventions, the third course in this rigorous four-course program. During the ceremony, students recited an oath and donned their white lab coats, marking their commitment to and progression within the medical profession. A big thank you to our amazing teachers, Mrs. Kim Sandberg and Ms. Aleid van der Zel, for their dedication to preparing our students for success and for organizing such a meaningful ceremony for students and their families. Today, the SLC Conference hosted a leadership summit for 20 students from each school. The presenter was Mark Horbinski from WON80. The students discussed the virtue of sportsmanship.

🌟 Our Adapted PE class had an incredible Term 1 with two field trips to Carthage College! 🏊‍♂️✨ During the first visit, we made a splash in the pool, enjoying swim activities led by Carthage's future physical education teachers.
