Union Grove Union High School is proud to welcome five distinguished alumni and community members into the Union Grove Broncos Hall of Fame.
The 2026 Hall of Fame class represents an impressive range of accomplishments, from standout athletic careers at Union Grove and the collegiate level to decades of service to the school and community. Together, this year’s inductees reflect the excellence, dedication, leadership, and Bronco spirit that have helped shape the Union Grove tradition.
The newest members of the Union Grove Broncos Hall of Fame are Jared Andreoli, Class of 2008; Scott McBride, Class of 1978; Karen Mutter, Class of 1972; Mari Suokko, Class of 2016; and Kassidy Jo Wilks-Ohmstede, Class of 2012.
Community Invited to Celebrate the Inductees
The Union Grove community is invited to join us on Friday, September 25, as we celebrate the newest members of the Broncos Hall of Fame during Homecoming.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at 6:45 p.m., immediately before the Broncos take on the Westosha Central Falcons at 7 p.m.
The celebration will continue during halftime, when the inductees will receive a special highlight as part of the evening’s drone show.
It will be a special night to celebrate five Broncos whose accomplishments and contributions have left a lasting impact on Union Grove High School and beyond. We hope the Bronco community will join us in welcoming them home and celebrating this well-deserved honor.
Jared Andreoli, Class of 2008
Jared Andreoli was an 11-time varsity letter winner at Union Grove High School, competing in football, basketball, and baseball. During his time as a Bronco, he earned numerous All-Area, All-Racine County, and All-Lakeshore Conference honors across all three sports.
Baseball was where Andreoli achieved his greatest success. A four-year varsity player, he earned First Team All-Conference honors three times. As a junior, he was named Honorable Mention All-State, and he capped off his senior season by being named Lakeshore Conference Player of the Year and Second Team All-State. He was also selected to the WBCA All-State East Team and received the Lakeshore Conference Senior Academic/Athletic Award.
Andreoli’s accomplishments extended beyond athletics. He was a member of the National Honor Society, received the President’s Education Award, and was recognized by Union Grove with the Major Athlete Award, Booster Club Scholarship Award, and Booster Club Citizenship Award.
Following graduation, Andreoli continued his baseball career at Western Kentucky University, where he was a four-year contributor for the Hilltoppers. He earned Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors, was named to the Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team, and received Capital One Academic All-District honors. He finished his career with 287 hits, ranking second in WKU history at the time.
In 2019, Andreoli was selected as one of 22 players on WKU Baseball’s All-Century Team.
Today, Andreoli runs a financial planning practice and lives in Milwaukee with his wife and their two children. He remains grateful for his time at Union Grove and is honored to join the Bronco Hall of Fame.
Scott McBride, Class of 1978
For Scott McBride, family, team, and community have defined much of his life and career.
A lifelong Union Grove resident, McBride entered UGHS in 1974 and graduated in 1978. As a student-athlete, he competed in tennis, basketball, and football, earning varsity letters in each sport. He also earned All-County and All-Conference honors in football and was selected as team captain his senior year.
His football career continued at UW-Oshkosh, where he played cornerback and became a four-year letter winner. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree, McBride married his wife, Diana, and they raised their three daughters in Union Grove.
McBride also built a 36-year career with WE Energies, where he served as a principal account manager. His commitment to his community was equally significant. For 15 years, he supported and coached youth basketball, softball, and football. Among those teams, he coached the RYS Eagles football team from the players’ peewee season until they entered high school.
In 2000, McBride joined the UGHS football coaching staff as an assistant varsity coach. He served as defensive coordinator through the 2006 season before becoming head coach of the Broncos in 2007. He remained in that role through 2011.
McBride was part of coaching staffs that secured Conference Championships in 2005, 2006, and 2008. As head coach, he led the Broncos to the third round of the playoffs in 2009, marking the first time in school history the program had reached that round.
McBride is thankful for the privilege of working with so many dedicated and talented coaches and players throughout the years. He is proud of the growth and success the program achieved during his tenure and continues to experience today.
He will always ride with the Broncos.
Karen Mutter, Class of 1972
Some individuals serve a school. Others become part of its foundation. Karen Mutter is firmly in the latter category.
A proud member of the Union Grove High School Class of 1972, Mutter’s connection to UGHS spans more than five decades as a student, parent, grandparent, community member, and staff member.
Mutter dedicated 28 years of professional service to UGHS, most recently serving as Executive Administrative Assistant. In that role, she provided trusted support to the Board of Education, district administrators, and staff.
While much of her work happened behind the scenes, her influence was felt throughout the district. Mutter served as an organizational backbone, helping ensure that operations ran smoothly while providing calm, consistency, and professionalism through periods of change and growth.
Her career reflected a passion for excellence that began during her own time as a UGHS student, when she discovered her strengths in business education. Those skills became the foundation for a career defined by precision, reliability, and service to others.
After returning to education and eventually joining UGHS in 1996, Mutter became an important part of many of the district’s most significant milestones. Her contributions touched building renovations and groundbreakings, district initiatives, leadership transitions, and even the establishment of the Bronco Hall of Fame itself.
Her legacy, however, extends well beyond her job description.
Mutter cultivated a culture of connection and care that shaped the daily experience of staff and students. She became known as the “calm in the storm,” the “heart of the building,” and an “icon of UGHS.”
Whether organizing events, welcoming guests, supporting colleagues, or simply offering a listening ear, Mutter consistently put others first. Her decades of service exemplify what it means to serve a school community with humility and heart.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals whose contributions have left a lasting and meaningful legacy. Karen Mutter’s decades of service, her integral role in the culture and operations of the district, and her enduring influence on generations of Broncos make her exceptionally deserving of induction into the Union Grove Broncos Hall of Fame.
Mari Suokko, Class of 2016
Mari Suokko established herself as one of the most accomplished golfers in Union Grove history during her four years as a Bronco.
Suokko earned four varsity letters in girls golf and was named the Southern Lakes Conference Player of the Year in each of her four seasons. She was also selected as the team’s Most Valuable Player all four years.
Her accomplishments continued at the county level, where she earned Racine All-County First Team honors each year and was named Racine County Player of the Year as a senior.
During her junior year, Suokko qualified for the State Tournament as an individual. As a senior, she helped lead the Union Grove girls golf team to its first-ever State Tournament team appearance.
Her success extended into the classroom. Suokko was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated as the class valedictorian.
Suokko continued both her academic and athletic careers at Ferris State University in Michigan. She competed on the women’s golf team for four years and served as a graduate assistant during her fifth year. Throughout her four years of competition, she earned Academic All-American honors each year.
Suokko went on to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Ferris State. After completing a one-year postgraduate residency, she began serving the community as an inpatient clinical pharmacist with Aurora Medical Center.
Suokko credits her coaches, the faculty of Union Grove High School, and her parents for helping shape her into the person she is today. She is grateful to the Hall of Fame committee for the honor and remains proud to be a Bronco.
Kassidy Jo Wilks-Ohmstede, Class of 2012
Kassidy Jo Wilks-Ohmstede was a standout student-athlete at Union Grove High School, excelling both in the classroom and on the volleyball court.
A high honors graduate with a 4.15 grade point average, Wilks-Ohmstede served as a senior class officer, was a member of Key Club, and earned six varsity letters, including four in volleyball and two in basketball.
On the volleyball court, she was named Southern Lakes Player of the Year and All-Area Player of the Year. She was also recognized by Southern Lakes Newspapers as its Senior Female Student-Athlete and was named a PrepVolleyball.com Academic All-American.
Wilks-Ohmstede continued her volleyball career at Furman University on a full scholarship. She started at setter for four years and served as team captain. She was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year in 2012 and earned All-Southern Conference honors in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Her senior season was particularly memorable. Wilks-Ohmstede was named MVP of the Southern Conference Tournament while leading the Paladins to the conference championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance. She finished her Furman career with 5,216 assists, a mark that remains the most in program history.
She was also a four-year member of the conference academic honor roll and received Furman’s Gary Clark Student-Athlete Achievement Award. In February 2026, she was inducted into the Furman Athletics Hall of Fame.
Wilks-Ohmstede graduated from Furman in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, magna cum laude, and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She went on to earn a Master of Public Health in epidemiology from Emory University and has spent the past decade working in public health.
She currently serves as Chief of Staff at Aquila Health, a healthcare data infrastructure company. She lives in Sharpsburg, Georgia, with her husband, Chris, and their two young sons.
Celebrating the Bronco Legacy
From athletic excellence and championship teams to academic achievement, professional accomplishment, coaching, mentorship, and decades of service, the five members of the 2026 Union Grove Broncos Hall of Fame class represent the many ways Broncos make a lasting difference.
Their accomplishments have extended far beyond the walls of Union Grove High School, yet each continues to carry the lessons, relationships, and experiences of their Bronco years forward.
Union Grove High School congratulates Jared Andreoli, Scott McBride, Karen Mutter, Mari Suokko, and Kassidy Jo Wilks-Ohmstede on this well-deserved honor and thanks them for the lasting legacy they have created as Broncos.
