Carolers

For ten seasons, the Union Grove High School Carolers have filled our community with the warmth and wonder of holiday music. What began as a small, spirited ensemble of just ten students in 2016 has grown into a beloved tradition and a powerhouse group of 44 talented young singers.

The Carolers were first brought to life through an idea from Superintendent Al Mollerskov, who envisioned students sharing music beyond the walls of the school. Thanks to generous funding from former school board member Dawn Van Ess, that vision became a reality. Under the direction of Rob Kroes, the ensemble has spent the past decade performing at nursing homes, local schools, city celebrations, and county events, becoming a cherished part of Union Grove’s seasonal festivities.

Their legacy includes one of the program’s most memorable moments. During the COVID 19 pandemic, when stages went dark and gatherings paused, the Carolers carried on. They filmed a made for TV holiday special, a heartfelt homage to 1950s Christmas broadcasts, bringing comfort, nostalgia, and joy to families when it was needed most.

Today, the Union Grove High School Carolers stand as a testament to dedication, community, and the transformative power of music. This year, we celebrate not only how far they have come, but also the countless smiles and memories they have created along the way. Here’s to the next decade of tradition, harmony, and holiday cheer.
